Kota Kinabalu: Sabah FC cannot afford to underestimate Kelantan United in their round two of the FA Cup tie at Likas Stadium tonight (Friday) starting at 7.30pm.

Head coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee said the players must stay focused and keep both feet on the ground against their Premier League side.

“The players must always respect their opponents and should not take the match easy especially in an FA Cup tie.

“Kelantan United may be playing in the Premier League but I am sure the players will rise to the occasion and try to prove that they too can compete with a Super League team,” he said.

Ong also said apart from losing Saddil Ramdani, who is currently with the Indonesian national side at the Vietnam SEA Games for the tie tonight, they will not have the service of import striker Neo Pessoa as well due to injury.

“All the available players are in excellent condition physically and Amri Yahyah is likely to lead the attack with the absence of Neto.

“We will not be short of options tomorrow. However, the final starting list will only be decided before the match as we have to take into account many factors.”

He also called on the fans to come in full to give their support to the team.

“We need all the support from the home crowd in this knockout tie. The roar from the stands will help to motivate the players even more to ensure that we can progress to the next round,” he said.
