Car razed in Kota Belud accident

KOTA BELUD: A Proton Gen 2 car suddenly burst into flames while parked near the town, here, Saturday.However, no one was hurt in the 6.15pm incident.

Kota Belud District Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief Muhammad Syazwan Latun said the station received a distress call about the incident at 6.20pm and eight firefighters including three auxiliary fire officers in an engine and an Emergency Services Assistance Unit (EMRS) utility vehicle were despatched to the scene.
“Upon arrival, they found the car was on fire but they managed to put out the fire.
“The car was 100 per cent destroyed and the vehicle owner has also been informed of the incident,” he said.
Muhammad Syazwan said the operation ended at 6.40pm while the cause of the incident is still under investigation.
