KENINGAU: Seven Sabah-born silat athletes representing Malaysia at the recent 19th World Pencak Silat Championship held at Malacca MITC each brought back medals.
Four of the athletes were crowned world champions as the Sabahans returned with four golds, one silver and three bronzes.

The four who contributed gold were Nor Farah Mazlan through the Puteri F event and also the best Pesilat Woman at the tournament, Luqman Laji in regu Putera, Sazlan Yuga in Ganda Putera and Merrywati Manuil in Creative Women Solo. Luqman also contributed a silver in the Men’s Singles.
