No snap State election if Parliament is dissolved this year
SANDAKAN: Sabah will not dissolve its State Assembly to go along with the dissolution of Parliament because it still has three more years to serve a full term, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

Hajiji said it was rumoured that the Sabah State Assembly will be dissolved too if Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the dissolution of Parliament this year.

“But, all these talks are not true as we still have three more years to govern Sabah,” he said at the Jelajah Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Batu Sapi programme held at the Flat MPS in Kampung Lupak Meluas Darat, here, Sunday.

GRS-Barisan Nasional State Government celebrates its second anniversary tomorrow (Monday).

This event coincides with its proposed listing on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad ("Bursa Securities"), scheduled for 30 April 2025.
“What is important is that we continue to strengthen GRS, the coalition representing the multi-racial and multi-religion people in Sabah.

“There are those who claimed that the 15th General Election will be held this October and some saying it will be next year but whatever it is GRS is ready."

Hajiji also disclosed that all the component parties in GRS have agreed to use the GRS symbol in the impending parliamentary elections.
