Kota Kinabalu: SMK Kemabong, Tenom emerged Under-16 champion at the inaugural State level Malaysia Little League football competition held here on Monday.They defeated SMK Terusan from Lahad Datu 3-0 in the final to lift the title while in joint third place were SMK Pengiran Omar II, Sipitang and SMK Balung, Tawau.

In the Under-12 category, the title went to SK Tamu Darat, Kota Belud following their 3-2 penalties shootout victory over SK Kuala Tomani, Tenom in the final with SK Meligan, Sipitang and SK Ansip, Keningau sharing the third spot.
A total of 16 teams took part in the tournament with matches being held at the Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex football fields and the Sukma fields.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Ellron Angin, while Sabah State Youth and Sports Department director Apui Jan presented the prizes to the winners.
Also present were Youth and Sports Ministry permanent secretary Datuk Mansur Asun and State Education Department deputy director Muddin Beting.
