Floods: Petronas donates aid

KOTA BELUD: Petronas contributed assistance to the District Disaster Management Committee to support flood relief efforts.They, compris three boats with engine, 1,000 collapsible tents, 700 life jackets and 7,000 raincoats and were handed over to Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM) Deputy Director, Lt Col Nasrullah Mohamad Nadzir, by General Manager of Petronas Sabah and Labuan, Siti Ayu Abdul Wahab.

“We hope that our contribution and involvement will further support the relief efforts by these agencies,” Siti Ayu said.
The initiative is part of Petronas’ RM25 million flood assistance contribution nationwide announced in December 2021. The fund was pledged by units and subsidiaries within the Petronas Group.
Under the initiative, Petronas in Sabah had also delivered 1,000 relief packages containing food items, hygiene kits and blankets as well as 190 sets of cooking gas cylinders and stoves to flood victims in Pitas, in February and March this year.
Petronas delivered relief packages to flood victims in Sandakan, Beluran, Beaufort, Kota Belud, and Telupid last April.
