KOTA BELUD: An elderly woman who was reported missing since last Sunday, was found safe at a farm in Kampung Kalibungan Rosok.

Kito Dentok, 84, who was lost at 500 metres due to her age, was found by her family members before informing the fire department at 7.30am.

Kota Belud District Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief, Muhammad Syazwan Latun said the tired victim was found walking and unhurt.

He said a total of 11 firefighters including five Auxiliary Fire Officers (PBB) were deployed to the location along with a utility vehicle from the Emergency Service Assistance Unit (EMRS).

“The search and rescue (SAR) operation entered its second day involving the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and the Dog Unit (K9)”.

“However, as soon as the operation resumed this morning, the rescue team found the victim not far from her home in the farm,” he said.

According to him, the victim was given initial treatment before being sent to Kota Belud Hospital for further examination.

“The operation was terminated at 9am,” he said.
