Ranau PN candidate recalls working behind-the-scene
Taufik also helped bring the benefits of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) to the people between 2013 to 2015 via “touch  community”.
RANAU: Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) candidate for the P179 Ranau, Taufik Dahlan said several Federal Ministers he understood how the federal government functions and flow of administration from the ministries to the agencies and their implementation at the department level.

Apart from the federal level, he also has the experience of working at the state government where he served closely with the Chief Minister then, are involved in many decision making processes.

“I started off as a pioneer in the Dusun channel in  radio and television, as a presenter in the late 70’s. In my time, I encouraged Dusun singers to compose Dusun songs. Among those who rose to stardom was, Datuk John Gaisah.

“From 2004 to 2006 I was involved with Tan Sri Bernard Dompok to work with the Registration Department (JPN) to solve the problem of documents for Ranau citizens who did not have ICs and birth certificates.

“In struggling for the issuance of identity cards for Ranau villagers living in villages like Timbua, Kinarasan, Ulu Sugut and Bongkud, we succeeded in providing birth certificates to 1,000 people and 480 identity cards,” he said.

Taufik also helped bring the benefits of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) to the people between 2013 to 2015 via “touch  community”.

Taufik said he also strived to improve the infrastructure and marketing of agricultural products here.

“I was also involved in the fisheries sector, and helped the people, especially the small holders to get a fund of RM200,000 from the government at that time.” he said.
