KENINGAU: Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan said that the Sabah Biodiversity Centre is preparing a dossier of proposals for the second Biosphere Reserve site in Kinabatangan area in Sabah.

He said currently the Crocker Range Biosphere Reserve (RBBC) in Sabah discovered in 2014 is one of the three sites found in Malaysia so far, along with Tasik Chini Biosphere Reserve, Pahang (2009) and Penang’s Bukit Bendera Biosphere Reserve (2021).

“I was informed that the RBBC is the first in Sabah and is the second recognition from UNESCO after the Kinabalu Park Heritage Site which was declared in 2000,” he said when officiating the Crocker Range Biosphere Reserve Tour at the Bingkor community hall, here.
