KOTA KINABALU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has indicated a direct implementation of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) safeguards for Sabah and Sarawak without having committees to look into the matter.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan (pix) said the members of Sabah Cabinet had raised the MA63 issue when they met Anwar at Putrajaya, recently.

“We asked whether they will continue with the Cabinet Committee on MA63, and his response was ‘why is there a need for a Cabinet Committee, why don’t we just implement it?’”
“So I said, are you sure? He said ‘yes’. We are happy with that response as it means that we will focus on implementation,” said Jeffrey said after launching the Heart of Borneo symposium here, Friday.
