Three cobras caught in Papar

PAPAR: Three giant Cobras were caught by the Civil Defence Force (APM) in two separate operations in different locations, here, Sunday.According to a APM spokesperson, three personnel led by Sub-Lieutenant Yuni Suzila rushed to Taman Aman Suria, Kg Dambai, after being alarmed at 5.30pm in the first operation.

He said that the complainant had lodge a report that there were two King Cobras outside a drain near his house.
“Upon arriving, the team immediately carried out a 10-minute operation to capture both snakes that were eight and nine meters, weighing nine kg,” he added.
In the second operation, the same team led by Yuni rushed to Kg Seberang, Benoni after receiving a report of a seven-meter King Cobra sighting at about 5.59pm.
Based on the report, he said the snake was seen by the complainant’s child near their housing compound and immediately contacted APM.

“Immediately after the initial operation, the team rushed to the second location to catch the seven kg reptile,” he added.
The teams carried out both operations with ease and no injuries were reported.
