PAPAR: In efforts to raise awareness on career choices in the beauty and makeup field, Nu Bayu Services organised a workshop on makeup and skincare basics which was attended by 21 participants. The workshop, held for the first time at Paradise Team, Papar Square, here, was offered free of charge at the initiative of Nu Bayu Services founder Karin Marisa Manjaji, a Selangor-based Sabahan celebrity makeup artist. Aside from exposing participants to career opportunities in the field, the course also aimed to educate participants on the basics and importance of face care and makeup. “Following the right steps is very important to focus on in one’s 20s. Early exposure to the basics of makeup is important not only to increase self-confidence but also to raise awareness on career choices within the field,” she said.

Karin added that all participants were exposed to hands on training and make-up demonstrations the four-hour workshop, which is a Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) standard course.

“I hope Nu Bayu Services will have more opportunities to provide added-value to any individual who is interested in entering this field and organise similar skills workshops in the future,” she added.
