Rape: January 10 mention for security guard

Kota Kinabalu: A 61-year-old security guard who was charged with raping an underage girl has his mention set for Jan 10.Sessions Court Judge Noor Hafizah Mohd Salim set the date for Liwoh Tigoan’s case mention via e-review to know the status of the alleged victim’s latest counselling report.

Liwoh is accused of raping the nine years and six months old girl in the evening of May 3, 2022 at a house in Jalan kionsom in Pekan Inanam Baru, here.
The offence under Section 376(2)(e) of the Penal Code carries a jail term of between 10 and 30 years, and whipping, on conviction.
On May 16 2022, Liwo pleaded not guilty to the charge against him.
Meanwhile, the court set Jan 31 for mention a case of a Filipino charged with entering the State illegally.

The date was given to Nasir Ibnu whose case was deferred pending the availability of a Suluk interpreter.
No plea was taken from Nasir who is accused of entering the State without any valid document.

The court ordered Nasir to be remanded under Section 259 of the Criminal Procedure of Code, pending the date.
