KENINGAU: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan reminded rubber smallholders in the State to be careful of the rubber leaf disease known as pestaloptiopsis which can affect rubber yields.

He said the rubber industry around the world, including Sabah, is also affected by the leaf disease, which can affect rubber yields by up to 50 per cent.
“This disease is spreading everywhere including in Keningau district which will certainly affect the small rubber smallholders,” he told reporters after the district’s monsoon aid distribution (BMT) here on Thursday.
