Aid for flood, landslide victims
The initiative was carried out to offer moral support for the victims.
RANAU: The Otai Reformis 1998 Sabah in collaboration with Pertubuhan Sinar Wanita Sabah (Persiwas) sent flood and landslide aid to victims here, last Friday.

In the flood and landslide incident that occurred on January 4, an estimated 380 victims were affected involving 87 houses.

A total of 17 were badly damaged while one house was swept away by the torrential floods.

The Chairman of Otai Reformis 1998 Sabah, Datuk Dr Hj Sangkar Rasam, was also present at the programme.

Sangkar, who is also the Chairman of the Sabah State Leadership Council (MPN), was accompanied by Persiwas Chairperson, Datin Rufinah Pengeran, Secretary of Otai Reformist 1998 Sabah, Junaidah Makku and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Ranau Branch Head, Peter Sumping as well as machinery.

The group visited and personally met with the victims in three affected villages, namely Kg Labang, Kg Bahab and Kg Kituntul Lama, Ranau.

Among the parties that contributed were the Pertubuhan Murni Anak Sabah (Permas), PKR and individual contributor Raiyan Abdul Rahim, who is the leader of the PKR.

Head of Information PKR Sabah, Junaidah Makku, said the programme was an initiative of the movement to show care and support for the victims.

“May all victims be given perseverance and strength to face this great challenge,” she said.
