Father sustains burns saving his children, wife

The fire brigade put out a house fire in Kampung Tanjung Pasir Labuan, Kota Belud.
KOTA BELUD: A man was burnt while searching for one of his children in a house fire in which a family of four lived in Kampung Tanjung Pasir Labuan, here, Wednesday.The victim, Razmi Sirun, 35, was injured in the back of his body in the incident at 4 pm.ADVERTISEMENT
However, his two children and wife managed to get out of the house while the victim was helped by the fire brigade.
Kota Belud District Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief, Muhammad Syazwan Latun, said they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 4.07 pm.
He said nine members including the Auxiliary Fire Officer (PBB) rushed to the scene of the incident with one machine and an Emergency Service Assistance Unit (EMRS).
“Upon arrival, a semi-permanent house was already 100 per cent destroyed and the firefighters to put out the fire.ADVERTISEMENT
“The fire was brought under control at 4.55 pm and one of them was injured due to the heat of the flames,” he said.
Muhammad Syazwan said the victim was given initial treatment by the EMRS unit before being sent to Kota Belud Hospital.

“The cause of the fire is still under investigation while the operation ended at 6.06 pm,” he said.
