KTYS rebates for first 50 paid enrolments

Kota Kinabalu: Kolej Teknologi Yayasan Sabah (KTYS) will hold the second series of its open day at its City Campus in Sembulan here for two days beginning today (Thursday) and to be continued in February.KTYS CEO Haji Samin Haji Ongki said the first 50 students to register with payments would be entitled to a 30 per cent rebate on the registration fee during the event.ADVERTISEMENT
He urged parents, school leavers and potential students to attend the event.
The college, which is undergoing an upgrade at both its Sembulan and Likas campuses, held the first series last week.
It is among efforts to disseminate information and create awareness on the courses offered as well as collaborations, among others.
During the open day from 8am to 5pm, parents would also benefit from free career consultation as well as discuss KTYS’ programmes, facilities, study loans and grants from the State Government, Yayasan Sabah as well as from various relevant bodies.ADVERTISEMENT
Finished products from some of KTYS’ skills programmes such as Copper and Metal Tooling, Batik Making, Embroidery would also be displayed and sold during the event.

Established in 1990, KTYS was initiated as the Institute for People Development (IPD) providing basic vocational programmes for local youths for employment.
It is now a leading provider of tertiary education and industry-friendly vocational skills to meet the state’s demand for skilled human capital.
KTYS ensures its graduates not only acquire skills but are equipped with enhanced qualifications and skills from KTYS strategic smart partnerships with ABM, Niosh, UMS, CIDB, UMP among other industry players.
KTYS smart partnership allows graduates to pursue further studies with Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) leading to a stint in Germany. The courses pursued are Bachelor in Business Engineering, Bachelor in Mechatronics, Bachelor in Automotive and Bachelor in Electrical (Electronics).
KTYS had so far sent three groups of students to UMP and Germany, who would be graduating soon. KTYS graduates may also opt to complete their studies and training in Beijing after two-and-a-half years.
Courses pursued are Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor in Civil Engineering and Bachelor in Electrical.
