Teens held over motorcycle theft in Tawau

Jasmin said all the suspects were taken to Tawau District Police Headquarters (IPD) for further action while the case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code for theft.
TAWAU: Police arrested four teenagers believed to be involved in a motorcycle theft case that was reported in less than 24 hours in Kg Sungai Imam, Bombalai on Monday.Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the four suspects aged between 16 and 21 were successfully arrested by a team of Bombalai Police Station personnel who also found the motorcycle.

He said the motorcycle was confiscated in a bush area within the palm oil plantation at the village.
“The motorcycle was reported missing last Monday after it was last placed at the house and was later found within the palm oil plantation area less than 24 hours after the report was received,” he said.
Jasmin said all the suspects were taken to Tawau District Police Headquarters (IPD) for further action while the case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code for theft.
The section provides a prison sentence of not less than one year and not more than seven years and can be fined, if convicted.
