Kota Belud house razed
The house of the family destroyed in a fire.
KOTA BELUD: A family of six was made homeless after fire gutted their house in Jalan Tamu, Kampung Siasai here, recently.

However, the fire was reported to have started at 8.50am and no occupants were reported injured.

 Kota Belud District Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief Muhammad Syazwan Latun said he received an emergency call at 8.59am.

He said a total of seven members rushed to the scene of the incident with one machine and one utility vehicle of the Emergency Service Assistance Unit (EMRS).

“Upon arriving at the location, the two-storey house was found to be 95 per cent destroyed.

“The strong wind caused the fire to spread quickly but the occupants managed to get out to save themselves.

“Properties and some important documents belonging to the occupants were also destroyed in the fire,” Muhammad Syazwan said when contacted here.

According to him, the operation to put out the fire was successfully controlled at 11.08am and the fire did not spread to nearby houses.

“The operation ended at 12.49pm while the cause of the incident and the estimated loss are still under investigation,” he said.
