‘Paying RM150 on transport for dialysis is bad’

KENINGAU: Minister of Community Development and People’s Well-Being Datuk James Ratib takes seriously the problem of patients having to cover the high cost of transport to come to the hospital for dialysis.“Try to think that if the patient’s place is located far in the interior some 100 km and they need dialysis services three times a week at the hospital, they have to bear high and burdensome fares.
“Payment for dialysis services is not a problem for them because they only have to pay RM13 which is charged by the hospital but their transportation for a single dialysis reaches RM150 to RM200.
