What an EV public charging station of tomorrow looks like compared to fossil fuel stations of today.
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s only one Electric Vehicle (EV) BMW charging station is set to change with a campaign by Falida Motors Sdn Bhd, a Tesla car dealer, and its partner Green EV Charge Sdn Bhd to get hotels, condominiums, etc. to provide more EV charging stations to benefit the growing EV motoring public.Falida Motor CEO Syed Faiz and Shahab Paracha, the Technical Project Lead of Green EV Charge Sdn Bhd briefed hoteliers, real estate developers, and other business establishments on the benefit of being the first movers of EV charger installation here at the Hilton Hotel on Monday.ADVERTISEMENT
This will boost up their ESG (environment, social and governance) credibility status, helping in the building of the green circular economy and fight against adverse climate change.
Syed Faiz said, “This year 2023 is a very exciting time to see the exponential growth of EV in Sabah and Malaysia from 980 last year to a few thousands of various brands to date.
Syed Faiz and Shahab Paracha answering questions.
“There is a long waiting list for EV delivery. We are due to deliver 50 Tesla. People who can afford it can see that they can save much on fuel and vehicle maintenance repair costs.”
Shahab Paracha said:ADVERTISEMENT
“We have 20,000 people using our Apps on their cell phones to charge their EV in Malaysia, and the number is expected to increase. Soon fossil fuel dealers like Shell and Petronas will install EV chargers at their fuel stations too.
“Establishments that install EV chargers will be publicised on our Apps as to their location. This has helped to drive business traffic to patronise F&B outlets there.”
