Keningau Vocational College bags two golds

KENINGAU: Keningau Vocational College (KVC) students won two gold medals at the Research and Innovation Poster Competition (RIPC) organised remotely by MNNF Network, an academic organisation based in Negeri Sembilan, last monthThe competition, from Feb 14 to 25, was specifically for final year projects by diploma students as well as theses produced by undergraduates and postgraduates in tertiary institutions, said KVC’s Research and Innovation Head Dr Sirhajwan Idek.

Of four entries from four KVC teams, it bagged two gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal.
The first gold-winning project was won by two Cosmetology students – Delvera Debbie and Andrea A. Anthonius – who designed a tent as a sheltered space conducive to beauty treatment that is done outdoor so the customers can have the necessary privacy while getting pedicure and body massage.
“The second gold was awarded for a personalised trolley with safe box that is crucial for customers to stash their personal belongings like phones and purses during treatment,” said Dr Sirhajwan, adding it was designed by Helsianey Philip and Yuzira Yazrin who also studied Cosmetology.
Two other projects by Bakery and Pastry students of the College won a silver medal and a bronze medal in the competition.

KVC Director Christine Stanislaus Kinsik expressed delight in their students’ achievement and hoped they will continue to pursue their projects which can benefit the community as well as the college.
