Sabah Energy signs three gas deals today, says Hajiji

Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn Bhd (SEC) signed gas agreements with several major investors in Sabah today, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, who witnessed the signing events.
The first is the signing of a Natural Gas Supply Agreement between SEC and SBH-Kibing Solar New Materials (M) Sdn Bhd for their silica sand processing and solar panel manufacturing project.

“SBH-Kibing's investment amounting to RM2 billion will provide an economic spillover effect to Sabah including at least 1,800 job opportunities,” said the Chief Minister on Facebook.
“SEC also signed a Natural Gas Supply Agreement with SK Nexilis Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a South Korean company that invested as much as RM4.2 billion for the construction of a copper foil manufacturing plant for electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturers which also created at least 500 job opportunities.
“In addition, [I] also witnessed the signing of the ‘Head of Agreement’ between SEC and Petronas Sdn Bhd's subsidiary, RGTLD for the supply of natural gas in Sogip and the handing over of the Novation of Natural Gas Supply agreement document between SEC and existing independent power plants with a total capacity of 880MW.”
Hajiji was referring to the acronyms for Regas Terminal (Lahad Datu) Sdn Bhd (RGTLD) and Sabah Oil and Gas Industrial Park (Sogip).
