Couple killed in Papar crash
The tragic accident scene.
PAPAR: A 50-year-old man and his wife, 45, were killed when the motorcycle they were riding on collided with a Perodua Viva at Km 14, Jalan Lama Papar-Kota Kinabalu, on Sunday.

District Police Chief DSP Kamaruddin Ambo Sakka said the 6.30pm tragedy occurred when the motorcycle was rear-ended by a Perodua Viva while exiting a junction near Kampung Mangis and entering the right lane.

“The wife who was riding pillion succumbed to serious head injuries at the scene while her husband died about 7am on Monday,” he said.

The car driver who was travelling alone towards Benoni from Kampung Kawang escaped unscathed.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
