Sabah Maju Jaya to prioritise Sabah oil and gas companies

Kota Kinabalu: SMJ Sdn Bhd (SMJ), Sabah’s oil and gas company tasked with overseeing overall development in the oil and gas industry, will prioritise Sabah oil and gas services and equipment (OGSE) companies and contractors.Hence, Sabah Oil Gas Services Council (SOGSC) Protem Vice President Jesselton Jason has invited Sabah OGSE companies and contractors to register with the SOGSC secretariat at [email protected].ADVERTISEMENT
“This is important to enable as many Sabah OGSE contractors to be listed under SOGSC for the attention of SMJ to prioritise employing their professional services.
“SMJ encourages SOGSC to recruit as many Sabah OGSE contractors under SOGSC, as one of the key stakeholders to engage with SMJ on matters related to skills, capabilities and capacities development,” he said.
He said SOGSC Protem President Datuk Harris Annuar Tan and six Protem Committee members attended an engagement session with SMJ recently for “the best interest of the State with the objective of securing greater revenue sharing, greater say and greater participation in the oil and gas value chain in Sabah.”
“During the session, we formally introduced SOGSC and its core objectives in supporting Sabah’s aspiration to achieve greater revenue sharing and greater participation of Sabahan oil and gas services and equipment companies in all oil and gas services sectors,” Jason said.

“We also exchanged ideas and opportunities to sustainably develop specific capabilities and capacities of Sabahan companies, to ensure their long-term participation in a meaningful, significant and systematic manner without compromising technical requirements, safety, quality, project costs and schedule.”
SOGSC expressed appreciation and gratitude to SMJ for its commitment to have regular engagements for the benefit of Sabah OGSE companies.
