Kota Kinabalu: Some 652 students from three primary schools in Penampang received school uniforms from Bank Rakyat, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick witnessed the presentation of donations to SK Sugud, SK Putaton and SK St Theresa Inobong in a small handover ceremony. The Penampang MP expressed his gratitude to Bank Rakyat and all agencies under his ministry for successfully implementing their respective CSR programmes. “This includes the Back To School Programme organised by UDA Holdings Berhad, IKMA and now it’s Bank Rakyat’s turn. This shows that ministries and agencies are very concerned about the needs of all levels of society, especially school students,” he said during the ceremony. Meanwhile, Ewon said he will hold a series of meetings with all Principals and Headmasters of schools in the Penampang Parliamentary constituency after the new school session begins.

“In addition to academic and sports excellence programmes as well as CSR programmes to assist schools, I would like to see how entrepreneurship can be fostered on school campuses,” he said.
