The Kancil that crashed into Kunak restaurant.
KUNAK: Some 40 customers dining in Kunak Plaza had the shock of their lives when a Perodua Kancil driven by an elderly man crashed into the restaurant Wednesday morning.The restaurant’s supervisor, Sikkandar Baharudin, said several tables were occupied by the customers when it happened at10.20am.

“I was shocked by the incident…luckily there were no casualties. There were more than 40 adults and children,” he said.
It is understood that the driver in his 60s stepped on the gas pedal while he was parking in front of the restaurant.
The driver was waiting for his
passenger who was eating inside the restaurant.

The restaurant’s CCTV footage showed that the Kancil went up the pavement in front of the restaurant, crashed into the iron fence and entered the restaurant.
Four tables and seven chairs were damaged, including customers’ dishes scattered on the floor.

Sikkandar said the car rammed into a sink in the corner of the restaurant, reversed and then moved forward again before stopping.
An ambulance came to take the driver to hospital for treatment. Police were present.
