Kota Kinabalu: The Trade Investment Unit (TIU) under Sabah Development Berhad (SDB) had a productive briefing session with Invest Sabah Berhad Thursday, to discuss the potential investment opportunities and explore collaboration to boost investment in Sabah.

During the session, the TIU, led by SDB Chairman Datuk Frankie Poon Ming Fung, and Invest Sabah Berhad, led by its new Chairman Datuk Seri Anifah Aman and CEO Datuk Madiyem Layapan, expressed their commitment to collaborate and work together to attract more investors to Sabah.

They also discussed the importance of realigning their efforts to get a clearer direction on the Sabah Government’s development goals and creating more job opportunities for the people of Sabah.

Frankie emphasised the potential of investing in the healthcare industry to enhance Sabah’s economy.

“Sabah has a lot to offer in terms of the healthcare industry as well as the medical tourism industry, and we need to capitalise on this opportunity to attract more investors and visitors to Sabah,” he said.

TIU General Manager Liau Fui Fui said it was good to receive input from Invest Sabah Berhad, and both parties would continue to collaborate closely to bring more investments to Sabah and create more job opportunities for the people of Sabah.

“I believe that by working together, we can achieve our goals for Sabah’s development,” she said.

TIU and Invest Sabah Berhad agreed to foster their collaboration in the future, with a shared vision of bringing more investments to Sabah and contributing to the State’s economic growth.
