LAHAD DATU: The body of a Palau (sea gypsy) boy, believed murdered with his head stuck between trees, was found among bushes at Kg Panji, here, on Saturday.District Acting Police Chief Supt Azmir Abdul Razak said the boy was found with his body covered in blood and wounds on his head, both hands and left foot.ADVERTISEMENT
“The victim’s mother in her 20s said the three-year-old went out to play and never returned, prompting her to search for him.
“The boy was found about 3pm and his mother sought help from villagers to inform the police,” he said.
The boy’s right hand was tied while his head was stuck between trees.
The victim’s head injuries were believed inflicted using a sharp object and there were slit wounds on both hands and left foot.ADVERTISEMENT
“Acting on information, a foreigner in his 30s was detained to assist in investigations. He was the last person seen together with the victim.
“The suspect was found positive for drug abuse and believed to be insane. Also detained were the boy’s parents who are also foreigners,” he said.

The case has been classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code. He urged the public to not panic or spread false information.
