KENINGAU: Forty-five underprivileged students from three schools in the district received school items and cash from the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) through its Hasil Kasih Prihatin Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

The students from SK St Francis Xavier’s, SK Kampung Keningau and SK Banjar received contributions in the form of school essentials and RM100 cash each.

Officiating the programme held in conjunction with the 27th Hasil Day celebration this year, Sabah IRB Director Datuk Hajam Lajah Alam said the programme was one of IRB’s strategic approaches in getting closer to the community, and a sign of IRB’s strong support for human capital development.

He hoped it could help ease the burden and assist the students in preparing for the new school year soon, adding the programme would continue to be held, in line with the Government’s aspirations of a caring culture and ensuring no groups in the country are marginalised.

Also present were Sabah IRB Revenue Operations Director (Collection Section) and CSR Programme Chairman Mazlan Mandin, senior officials from Kota Kinabalu and Keningau IRB.
