Kota Kinabalu: Putatan will face risk of urban poverty in 10 to 15 years if there is no development planning to provide houses to residents in the district, said Works Minister Datuk Ir. Shahelmey Yahya.

Shahelmey who is also Member of Parliament for Putatan noticed that there is a very high need for the government to provide affordable housing or peoples’ housing project (PPR) for locals of low-income earners such as B40 and middle-income earners in Putatan.

He said majority of the residents in the district (Putatan) are under B40 and M40 categories whereby many are finding it challenging to own a house under the current market price.
