PAPAR: A RM55,000 budget has been granted for the repair of Kg Kaiduan’s suspension bridge. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah, Sarawak Affairs and Special Functions) Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the infrastructure repair would facilitate the villagers’ daily activities.“The Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister’s Department approved the requirements promptly because the bridge is also an education and socio-economic access point for the local community.

“Even though there are not that many houses here, we know the bridge serves as a connector for the community.
“If we go to Tamu Kinarut, we will see people from Kg Kaiduan leaving their homes as early as 2am to ensure they arrive at Pekan Kinarut before dawn to sell their agricultural produce. We must therefore assist the community in earning an income by repairing their access link so that they can bring their agricultural produce to sell,” he said at the opening of the Kg Siaga 221: Kg Kaiduan Disaster Resilient Community Programme.
The Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Fund (Yapeim) also presented RM10,200 in donations to 102 pupils from SK Kaiduan during the programme.
The gesture was intended to alleviate the financial strain on families whose children will return to school today (Monday) for the 2023-2024 school sessions, as well as to motivate students to excel.

The Felda Foundation and the Felda Regulatory Division also handed food baskets to 200 families from Kg Kaiduan, Kg Bisuang, and Kg Bolotikan.
Also present was Limbahau Assemblyman Datuk Juil Nuatim.
