Cops warn over water ‘riot’

Early this month, Daily Express reported that department personnel found 12 water pumps underneath a mains illegally connected to a nearby electrical pole to feed the water downstream.
Kota Kinabalu: Holding dialogues are more constructive than demonstrations over the acute water problem in Sepanggar and other areas in Sabah, said Sepanggar MP Mustapha Sakmud.He was responding to a call to stage a “riot” today (Monday) outside the Water Department by affected groups.
He said the real issue in Sepanggar is insufficiency of water from the Telibong and Moyog plants as both are operating beyond their limits.
