TAWAU: The Sabah Foundation Group (SFG) through the South East Coast Zone held an Iftar ceremony on March 30 bringing together the local community to break their fast in the month of Ramadan.

The event was held at Nurud Dakwah Mosque, Kg. Antelope, Merotai, Tawau. A total of 150 people attended the event. Sabah Foundation’s Corporate Secretary Hanafiah Diman was also present.

The month of Ramadan was an opportunity to reconnect with family and friends and foster bonds of friendship that were important for the progress and prosperity of the State.

During the event, Hanafiah presented the SFG’s  contributions to the Nurud Dakwah Mosque and a total of 50 food baskets to the asnaf group of Kg Kijang.

The ceremony evoked an encouraging response from the participants who commended SFG’s initiative for organising the Iftar ceremony in the village.

“This event is a very meaningful place for the asnaf group as it creates friendship between the residents of Kg Kijang and members of SAFG,” said Haji Idris Masaliku, Chairman of Nurud Dakwah Mosque.

The Iftar programme created an important opportunity for SFG in strengthening its relationship with the local community. By approaching the needy, SFG showed its commitment to the welfare of the people.

At the same time, the event provided a platform for the SFG to get involved with the community personally.
