Gallery on Bingkor’s history

Bingkor town has undergone rapid development changes lately.
KENINGAU: A gallery displaying nostalgic pictures of Bingkor town here will be created to provide information to the community and the new generation about the history of the town.Explaining the proposal, Bingkor Assemblyman Datuk Robert Tawik said his side was in the process of collecting some important materials to realise the gallery.

“A suitable building has been prepared and we will seek the cooperation of all parties including professional bodies to complete this gallery,” he said recently.
Robert, who is also Assistant Minister of Works, said the local residents are also welcome to contribute nostalgic historical materials of Pekan Bingkor such as old photographs and historical writings to further complete the gallery.
He said such a gallery is important for the young generation especially those who did not know about the background history of Bingkor town which is so famous throughout Sabah.
“Several legendary leaders came from around the village of Bingkor town before. That’s why I thought it was necessary to create a gallery to provide knowledge to many people, especially the young generation,” he said.

Bingkor town has shown rapid development changes lately under the leadership of Robert as the people representative of Bingkor.
