Madani Carnival to be held in Tamparuli on May 6-7
Carl said a total of 60 entrepreneurs and cooperatives will participate in the Madani exhibition and sale.
Kota Kinabalu: The Entrepreneurs and Cooperatives Madani Carnival organised by the Entrepreneurship Development and Cooperatives Development Ministry (Kuskop) will be held for two days starting May 6 at Tun Hamdan Hall, Tamparuli.

Organising Chairman Carl Moosom said the carnival, held for the first time in conjunction with the Harvest Festival, is expected to be officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor, while the closing ceremony will be officiated by KUSKOP Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick on May 7. Carl said in addition to briefings on entrepreneurship and cooperatives that will be delivered by 10 agencies under the ministry, exhibitions and “Madani Sales” will also be held throughout the carnival.

“The briefing will be delivered by the Malaysian Cooperative Commission (SKM), Tekun Nasional, SME Corp Malaysia, the National Entrepreneurship Institute (Insken), Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM), Bank Rakyat, SME Bank, the Malaysian Cooperative Institute (IKMa), UDA Holdings Berhad, SME Corp. Malaysia and Pernas.

“The Tunas Usahawan Bumiputera (Tube) programme specifically for Sabah and Sarawak will also be launched at the opening ceremony,” he said in a statement, here, Thursday. Carl said a total of 60 entrepreneurs and cooperatives will participate in the Madani exhibition and sale.

He said that the programme was implemented in line with the “Nilai Daya Cipta Madani” concept through the entrepreneurs and cooperatives participation in the exhibition and sales activity. Carl invited the public to attend in large numbers to enliven the event and obtain further information on loan and financing schemes as well as training programmes related to entrepreneurship and cooperatives implemented by various agencies under Kuskop.

He said in the evening, the Kaamatan celebration event will be held at the same place starting at 6pm which is expected to be officiated by United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko) Deputy President Datuk Donald P. Mojuntin.

Various fillers have been arranged in conjunction with the event, including a singing performance by well-known artist Rosario Bianis, cultural dances, Sodop Rombituon (Singing) Competition and Sodop Pintutunan Unduk Ngadau Upko 2023.
