SANDAKAN: About 250 participated in the 2023 Tourism Sports Championship organised by the Sandakan Orang Utan Conservation Centre (PPOUS) which lasted for two days here.The tournament was officiated by Umno Libaran Division Deputy Head Datuk Salzo Asa at the PPOUS Hall, Sepilok, Batu 14, here.

When met by the media, Salzo praised the organisation of the programme which fostered sportsmanship among non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and the government.
He said it also closes the bond and good relationship between the participants.
Meanwhile, Organising Chairman Henri Giau said, the tournament was an annual programme since 1997.
“Among sports held during the event were football, sepak takraw, badminton and volleyball.

“This tournament also aimed to strengthen cooperation and friendship between government agencies and NGOs involved in the tourism industry here,” he said.
