Safa Kinabatangan may soon have own mini stadium

KINABATANGAN: Sabah Football Association (Safa) Kinabatangan may soon have its mini stadium built on an eight-acre plot of land near the Sports Complex here.
Its president Omar Maya Amat said site cleaning work which started last January has been completed and planting of grass will follow suit.

According to him, the complete structure with two football fields, a synthetic field, a futsal court, male and female dormitories and offices will cost around RM3 million.
However, they are still searching for more funds to complete the project.
“This has always been our plan since I took over the leadership three years ago. If completed, Safa Kinabatangan will be the first affiliate to have its own stadium.
“Therefore, I will ensure that this plan becomes a reality for the sake of football in the Kinabatangan district,” said Omar, who is also Safa’s technical director.
