The works minister says upkeep of water tanks is to blame for the airport water supply predicament.
PUTATAN: Water supply disruptions at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport have been resolved with services back by Friday afternoon, according to State Works Minister Datuk Shahelmey Yahya.
He said someone was cleaning the "R4C" water tanks and blamed the tanks upkeep for the predicament.

“We're looking into why no backup plan was made before the maintenance was done,” said the Putatan Member of Parliament during his Aidilfitri open house at Dewan Sri Putatan, here, Saturday.
Shahelmey, who is also Deputy Chief Minister, said he is waiting for a report on the matter and has asked for a contingency plan to be prepared for future maintenance works to prevent such incidents from recurring.
As for water woes in Sepanggar, he said services had been restored on Thursday after water supply disruptions the previous week.
“I'm still not happy with it and I've discovered a flaw in the infrastructure of the State Water Department," he said.

"I'll ask for a committee to be formed to study ways to better distribute water supply along Sabah's west coast."
