Waste management awareness: University College Sabah Foundation
Students and teachers of SK Kampong Biah Tengah participated in the UCSF programme.
KENINGAU: More than 70 students of SK Kampong Biah Tengah participated in a community programme organised by the University College Sabah Foundation (UCSF) at the school here.

The programme emphasises waste management awareness with a method called “Ecobrick”.

UCSF Generic Development and Language Center Lecturer, Sharmimiee Mohd Hussain, said the focus of the community service exposed students to waste management.

She said the activities conducted during the programme on May 9 were the 3R programme, Ecobrick workshop and 3R trash bins innovated by UCSF students.

Programme leader Mohd Azrin Abdullah hoped there would be more such programmes to help students hone soft skills and boost their self-esteem.

SK Kampung Biah Tengah Headmistress, Usrah Abd Wahid, encouraged UCSF students to carry out more such activities in the future.

Meanwhile, UCSF Vice-Chancellor Dr Rafiq Idris said the programme was one of the aspects emphasised to students at UCSF.

He said UCSF thanked all those who made the programme a success including students and teachers involved.
