“(The high fares) are not only burdening the people that want to travel between the Peninsula and Sabah, but also students who want to come back home for special occasions like Hari Raya, Kaamatan and Chinese New Year," Liew said.
Kota Kinabalu: Airlines should impose a price ceiling for Peninsular Malaysia-Borneo flight tickets as it will be helpful not only to citizens, but also the tourism sector, said State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew.“Right now (these airfares) are very high. I totally agree that fixing a price ceiling will help us and the tourism sector a lot.
“The industry has been badly hit. If they raise the price, it will be hard for our tour and travel companies to sell their packages.
