“The teachers’ sacrifices are so great that they are willing to spend their own money to finance school expenses.
“I understand that today’s ceremony is also financed from the teachers’ own contributions. As an appreciation to all educators in Penampang, I have contributed RM15,000 before and today I am presenting a contribution of RM18,000 to finance the expenses of this event.
“The collection from the teachers can be used to carry out other activities in the school,” said Ewon at the 2022 Appreciation Ceremony of the Penampang District Education Office (PPD), at the SJKC Yue Min Hall, here, Saturday.
Also present were Penampang PPD Planning Sector Deputy Education Officer Germaine Marcella Sikijip and senior officers of Penampang PPD.ADVERTISEMENT
“I understand the needs of the school, that’s why I will continue to find ways to ease the burden on principals and teachers,” he said, adding that he hoped the event would help boost educators’ morale.
At the ceremony, Ewon also agreed to present a contribution of RM30,000 from the elected representative’s allocation to SJKC Yue Min.

Meanwhile, Germaine Marcella said the ceremony gave the school member the opportunity to develop talent and creativity through involvement in various school activities.
“This Appreciation Ceremony was specifically designed to reward students, teachers and school personnel who worked hard the past year.
“I hope that this appreciation ceremony can motivate them to remain committed in raising the image of the school and making students on par with other schools,” he said.
At the ceremony, Ewon also presented a total of 263 awards covering curriculum, co-curriculum and management for all 34 secondary and primary schools in the PPD Penampang area.
