TAWAU: Two men suspected of being involved in housebreaking and theft were arrested less than 24 hours after committing the crime here on Wednesday.
Tawau Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the first suspect, 23, was arrested at 12.40pm by a team from the Bombalai Police Station in Kg Sg Haji Matahir.

He said the second, a local, 38, was arrested at an unnumbered house in the same village, following an interrogation on the first suspect who admitted to being involved in the burglary case with an accomplice.
The police also confiscated a mobile phone and a phone case from the suspect.
Jasmin said the two suspects are now being remanded for further investigation in accordance with Section 457 of the Penal Code and Section 6 (1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
“We are also conducting an investigation to ascertain if they were involved in other cases,” he said.
