SANDAKAN: Twenty-five cases of embezzlement of controlled and subsidised goods were detected around Sandakan waters from January to May 24, this year.

Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry’s (KPDN) Sandakan Chief Enforcement Officer Azdy Zukkry John said they involved misappropriation of controlled goods such as cooking oil, flour, sugar and petrol, and subsidised diesel.

He attributed the success to the cooperation of KPDN’s strategic partner, the Sabah Region 4 Marine Police Force (PPM) Sandakan, which carried out “Ops Gelora Taring” in the waters off the district.
