Kota Kinabalu: Kian Kok Middle School (KKMS) received a tuition assistance of RM5,000 from Nominated Assemblyman Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee, who is also President of Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP).
Kian Kok Board Chairman Datuk Clement Yeh appreciated Yong’s kindness and continuous support over the past three years.
ADVERTISEMENT “It is a relief for the students who can now focus on their study without worrying much about their parents’ financial situation,” he said, Monday.
Yeh emphasised that the collections of school fees alone cannot cover the school’s expenditures.
“Kian Kok was established by a group of Hokkien pioneers to strive for Chinese education and provide more opportunities for the Chinese community to send their children to secondary education in Chinese schools.
“It is duly the responsibility of the Board to uphold vision of our Hokkien pioneers.

SAPP’s Api-Api Constituency Liaison Committee (CLC) Chairman Wong Vui Khim, together with the CLC’s Secretary Thong Yong Hung and Treasurer David Chiu, visited Kian Kok and handed over the fund on behalf of Yong, recently.

He said Kian Kok always strives to keep opening up more choices and opportunities for students to better adapt to society in future.
Also present were Kian Kok Deputy Board Chairperson Datuk Mary Ling, School Supervisor Edwin Koh and Principal Goh Teck Seng.
