Kota Kinabalu: Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) will use the RM3 million funding announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim last Wednesday (May 31) to overcome the water supply problem at the university.

Its Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Kasim Mansor, in thanking the Prime Minister, said the fund would be used to implement underwater drilling and treatment projects.

He said the water problem at the university had been affecting the well-being of campus residents, especially students.

“UMS is grateful for the allocation announced by the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister is aware of the water and electricity problems, as well as the poor road condition facing the people of Sabah,” he said in a statement, Friday.

Kasim also said the setting up of a Madani nation by the Unity Government should include all sections of the society and from all regions and ethnicities in the country.
