GEORGE TOWN: AirAsia will be launching a direct flight route from Penang to Hong Kong effective this Aug 10.
Penang Tourism and Creative Economy Committee Chairman Yeoh Soon Hin said that the direct Penang-Hong Kong flight operated by AirAsia would be advantageous for Penang to attain higher tourism and economic growth.

“Hong Kong is a hugely-popular destination for Malaysians, so this new route will undoubtedly be well-received.
“We applaud AirAsia for its unwavering efforts to introduce unique routes, hence further promoting Penang as a must-visit destination in Malaysia with a total of 217 weekly flights,” he told the reporters at the press conference here Wednesday.
