Ambrose said this showed that the natives in Sabah have been around much longer than 60 years when Malaysia was formed.
Kota Kinabalu: Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is playing a dangerous game by insulting East Malaysians with his notions of “Tanah Melayu” (Land of the Malays) and Malaysia’s multi-racial identity, said Senator Datuk John Ambrose.
“He should think of the feelings of Sabahans and Sarawakians who have been living harmoniously in a multi-racial and multi-religious environment.
“The existence of the native courts in Sabah and Sarawak for more than 100 years shows Dr Mahathir’s claims wrong.
