KOTA BELUD: Kadamaian Assemblyman Datuk Ewon Benedick said the main projects in the Kadamaian Development Plan are being implemented including upgrading of the main roads in the area.
The Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives said among the main roads currently being upgraded are Jalan Tengkurus - Lahanas and Jalan Sayap - Mansulit.
ADVERTISEMENT He said work to upgrade Jalan Sayap started since last April and is expected to be completed in April 2026.
“Among the main roads that have been approved and implemented are the upgrading of Jalan Podos and Jalan Kaung.
“This is one of the main roads that needs upgrading because of the large population using the main route connecting schools as well as a catalyst for the progress of the rural tourism sector.
“Many more roads need to be upgraded and included in the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13) 2026 - 2030 and the implementation of the second term in RMK12.
ADVERTISEMENT “Therefore, I will continue to try to get allocations and insist that the projects be included in the Sabah Development Plan for the benefit of Kadamaian people,” he said during the appointment of Kadamaian’s Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) Chairmen at the Kadamaian Assemblyman Service Centre, Kg Piasau, here, on Monday.
Ewon who is also Penampang MP said apart from road upgrading, issues of land ownership, poverty eradication, welfare and school development continue to be given attention.
ADVERTISEMENT “I want more villages in Kadamaian area to be included in the Sabah State Customary Land Services Programme (Pantas). Among them are Kg Lobong-Lobong, Kg Kaung, Kg Tombotuon, Kg Sayap, Kg Melangkap, Kg Gensurai and Kg Lasau,” he said.

In terms of school development, he said the road to SK Kaung had been approved in the recent supplementary budget under the State Government’s expenses.
“Through the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives agencies, I have given allocations to all secondary and primary schools in Kadamaian under the Bank Rakyat Foundation programme,” he said.
