Tuaran: Quick action by Fire and Rescue personnel prevented a blaze at a sawdust production facility from spreading to other parts of the factory in Telipok, last Wednesday.
Some 30 per cent of the iron tank was destroyed in the 4.30pm incident. There were no injuries.

District Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief, Abdul Qawie Abdul Gapar, said nine Fire and Rescue personnel were deployed along with one machine and one utility vehicle of the Emergency Service Support Unit (EMRS).
The fire was brought under control in 26 minutes before it spread to the other factories and nearby buildings,” he said.
The workers contacted the Fire Department when they saw the fire.
“The cause of fire and losses are still under investigation while the operation ended at 7.09pm,” he said.
